It’s the most wonderful time of the year. And, if you’re one of the the Plastics, it can also be the perfect opportunity to practice your sultry Santa dance. Global girl group KATSEYE got into the holiday spirit on Sunday (Dec. 15) when they hit TD Garden in Boston for the 2024 iHearRadio Jingle Ball concert and a bonus Christmas gift for their EYEKONS fan group.
In addition to hitting the stage to perform alongside such fellow KISS108 jingle ballers as Tate McRae, Twenty One Pilots, Meghan Trainor, the Kid LAROI, Kesha and Benson Boone, the six-member group put together for the Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE reality show left time to pull off a holiday classic routine backstage.
Dressed in fur-trimmed red minidresses and knee-high black boots, the six-member group paid homage to the hip-swaying, booty poppin’ “Jingle Bell Rock” routine from the original 2004 Mean Girls movie with typically flawless choreo. Manon, Sophia, Yoonchae, Megan, Lara and Daniela nailed the routine originally performed by Plastics Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried and Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), right down to the parent-shocking double thigh-slap maneuver.
“Making KATSEYE happen at jingle ball Boston,” they captioned the video along with heart and snowflake emoji. “Thank you to all the EYEKONS who came to see us tonight, we love you!!” According to Teen Vogue, the group’s brief opening set included a clutch of songs from their debut EP, SIS (Soft Is Strong), including “Debut,” “My Way,” “Tonight I Might” and Touch.”
The multinational group released “Debut” in June after being pulled together in the first-ever collaboration between Universal Music Group’s Geffen Records and K-pop powerhouse HYBE.
