Philippine headline inflation rises to 2.3% in Oct from 1.9% in Sept



Headline or overall inflation in the Philippines increased to 2.3 per cent in October this year from 1.9 per cent in September. This brings the national average inflation rate from January to October this year to 3.3 per cent.

In October 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 4.9 per cent.

Clothing and footwear inflation was 2.7 per cent in October compared to 2.9 per cent in September.
The seasonally-adjusted consumer price index for all items in the country rose by 0.1 per cent month on month MoM in October from a 0.1-per cent MoM decrease in September.

Clothing and footwear inflation was 2.7 per cent in October compared to 2.9 per cent in September this year.

Core inflation, which excludes selected food and energy items, remained at 2.4 per cent in October. In the same month last year, core inflation was faster at 5.3 per cent.

The seasonally-adjusted consumer price index (CPI) for all items in the country rose by 0.1 per cent month on month (MoM) in October this year from a 0.1-per cent MoM decrease in September.

The deseasonalised CPI for clothing and footwear rose by 0.1 per cent MoM in the month compared to a 0.2-per cent rise in the preceding month.
