The Hilton Global Foundation is committing a record $5.3 million to 16 nonprofit organizations. These groups are working to lessen poverty, provide career development opportunities, and preserve the environment. This commitment aligns with Hilton’s mission to create a better world for travel.

Since its inception in 2019, the Hilton Global Foundation has facilitated access to clean water for over 220,000 people, donated over 18 million pounds of food to communities in need, and created approximately 113,000 learning and career growth opportunities.

Katherine Lugar, EVP, corporate affairs, Hilton and president, Hilton Global Foundation, highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to making a positive impact. She noted this donation marks the largest in the Foundation’s history and will support 16 nonprofits in addressing global challenges.

The Foundation’s annual grant process focuses on environmental sustainability, career development, and community resilience. Here are some exemplary projects that will benefit from this year’s grant:

Career Development: – International Youth Foundation (Mexico City, Mexico) will use the grant to help vulnerable young adults gain employment skills. – The grant to Only A Pavement Away (London, England) will place 300 people into hospitality jobs and provide 900 individuals with employment opportunities. – The Türkiye Down Syndrome Association’s Hospitality Career Development Project (Istanbul, Turkey) will provide job training to individuals with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.

Environmental Sustainability: – Scholars of Sustenance (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) plans to distribute over 1.9 million kilograms of food to 4.72 million people. – The National Marine Sanctuary’s Clean Seas Florida Keys initiative (Florida, U.S.) will remove harmful marine debris from coral reefs and seagrass habitats.

Community Resilience: – DC Central Kitchen (Washington, D.C., U.S.) aims to combat hunger and poverty through job training and creation. – The Felix Project (London, England) plans to rescue over 215 tons of surplus food, turning it into more than 513,000 meal equivalents.

In addition to these annual grants, the Hilton Global Foundation distributes microgrants to 100 local organizations nominated by Hilton hotel-based and corporate team members. These funds will support volunteer efforts in communities home to Hilton properties worldwide.
