Landmark Hotels, Inc. has officially begun constructing the Hyatt Place Sonoma Wine Country near Charles Schulz Sonoma County Airport. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday, October 9th, marking the commencement of a project that has been in planning for over five years. The hotel is expected to open its doors to guests by late 2026.

The Hyatt Place Sonoma Wine Country will feature 165 rooms and amenities such as a pool, gym, breakfast area, outdoor area, and rooftop restaurant and bar. The rooms are designed to be comfortable for individual corporate or leisure travelers and families, with sofa beds and connecting room options available.

The hotel will also offer larger suites with views of the Sonoma hills. Lowney Architecture designed the building, with interiors by DLR Group and construction by Charles Pankow Builders.

Guests can look forward to a lobby bar offering locally crafted wines, beers, spirits, and Starbucks coffee, as well as a 24/7 To-Go corner. The adjacent dining area will serve breakfast, and the rooftop bar and restaurant will provide an Italian/Mediterranean menu for lunch and dinner.

The project, spearheaded by Landmark Hotels, Inc., is a new venture for the company, as it represents its first hotel in the upscale select service segment. The hotel aims to cater to the expectations of millennial and Gen Z customers with elevated service and design elements in its public spaces.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Landmark Hotels, Inc. representatives, Sonoma County Tourism officials, and community members. As part of the celebration, Landmark Hotels donated to the Redwood Empire Food Bank and encouraged guests to contribute as well.
