Vietnam’s Jul textile-garment export earnings up 12.4% YoY to $4.29 bn

Vietnam’s textile-garment export earnings rose by 12.4 per cent year on year (YoY) to $4.29 billion in July—the first month this year in which the sector’s exports crossed $4 billion, and the highest since August 2022.

The country’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said the first seven months of the year saw the sector’s export revenue surge by 5.9 per cent YoY to $23.9 billion.

Fibre and yarn exports during the period rose by 3.5 per cent YoY to $2.53 billion, while that of fabrics soared by 18 per cent YoY to $458 million.

The country’s garment-textile industry imported raw materials worth $878 million during the seven-month period, representing an 11.4-per cent increase YoY, domestic media outlets reported.

Textile-garment exports last year reached $39.5 billion—a drop of 10 per cent YoY. This year the sector has set an export turnover target of $44 billion, marking a YoY rise of 10 per cent.
