With over 780 tonnes annual capacity, it’s among India’s largest and will cut 9,000 tonnes of CO₂ yearly.
Completed in 15 months, the project supports India’s 2070 Net Zero goal and BPCL’s 2040 Scope 1 & 2 emissions target.

Virtually inaugurated on April 26, 2025, by chairman and managing director G Krishnakumar, the facility is among the country’s largest and supports India’s Net Zero targets for 2070 under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

With a production capacity exceeding 780 tonnes annually, the plant is expected to cut carbon emissions by around 9,000 tonnes per year, BPCL & the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, government of India jointly announced in a Facebook post.

Featuring two high-capacity electrolysers, each with a capacity of 500 Nm³/hr, and completed in just 15 months, the project sets a benchmark in speed and cost-efficiency among Indian public sector oil companies.
