Lady Gaga didn’t let a technical hiccup put a damper on her Coachella 2025 performance.
During her headlining set on the second weekend of the Indio, Calif., festival on Friday (April 18), the 39-year-old pop icon’s microphone began to cut out during just the second song of her set, “Abracadabra.”
But ever the professional, Gaga didn’t miss a beat. As the mic continued to glitch, she smoothly transitioned to a handheld microphone, powering through the performance without skipping a single dance move. Later in the show, she reappeared with a brand new headset, fully back in command of the stage.
At one point during her performance, seated at her piano, Gaga addressed the issue with honesty and a bit of humor. “I’m sorry my mic was broken for a second. At least you know I sing live,” she told the crowd. “I guess all we can do is our best, and I’m certainly giving you my best tonight.”
Gaga first launched Coachella weekend one on April 11 with a nearly two-hour set at the Empire Polo Club. That appearance marked her return to the desert festival after stepping in as a last-minute replacement for Beyoncé in 2017.
Gaga’s weekend one performance featured hits from across her career, along with tracks from her latest album, Mayhem, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in March. Check out Billboard‘s review of Gaga’s weekend one Coachella set here.
The Indio festival’s second weekend continues through Sunday (April 20), with headlining performances from Green Day, Post Malone and Travis Scott.
