President Asif Zardari and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday assured the senior leadership of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) of the resolution of the issues regarding the Madrassa Bill.
JUI-F Sindh Secretary General Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro, along with a delegation, called on President Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal at their Naudero House and held a detailed discussion on the Madrassa Bill, the law and order situation in Sindh and the overall political situation.
During the meeting, Zardari and Bilawal allayed the concerns expressed by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on the Madrassa Bill and assured that the issues around the proposed legislation would be resolved as soon as possible.
On the occasion, Soomro expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh. Bilawal issued immediate instructions to the Sindh government and the Sindh police to take all possible steps to restore peace and order.
During the meeting, the president appreciated that punishment awarded to the killers of Soomro’s father, Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomro, paid tribute to all his heirs for their patience. Soomro appreciated the cooperation of the Sindh government and the role of Sindh police in the arrest of the killers.
Soomro was accompanied by JUI-F Larkana District Ameer Nasir Mahmood Soomro, who invited President Zardari, Bilawal, and Faryal Talpur to attend the wedding reception of his younger brother Dr Shafiqur Rehman Soomro.
President of PPP Women Wing Faryal Talpur; Sindh Assembly members Jamil Ahmed Soomro, Sohail Anwar Khan Sial, Maulana Tahir Mahmood Soomro, Maulana Tariq Mahmood Soomro, Attaur Rehman Soomro and Dr Shafiqur Rehman Soomro were also present in the meeting.
