IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan (IHG) has announced a new management agreement with BHR Okinawa Management GK, a subsidiary of Berjaya Land Berhad. This signals a renewal of the partnership between IHG and Berjaya, following their successful collaboration in Vietnam.
The agreement will see the ANA Crowne Plaza brand return to Okinawa with the 123-room ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Okinawa Uruma Hills. The resort will join the IHG system in 2025, and renovations are planned to enhance the Crowne Plaza brand presence.
Abhijay Sandilya, CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan, expressed his enthusiasm for the renewed partnership and its potential for IHG’s growth in Japan. He lauded the benefits that the resort will enjoy as part of IHG’s international network.
Syed Ali Shahul Hameed, CEO of Berjaya Land Berhad, also highlighted the potential benefits of the partnership and rebranding of the ANSA Okinawa Resort. He emphasized the strategic nature of the move, aiming to unlock new opportunities and improve guest experiences.
The ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Okinawa Uruma Hills is located on the main island of Okinawa, offering beautiful views of the East China Sea and Pacific Ocean. The resort will provide guests with amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, gym, karaoke room, restaurant, bar, meeting space, ballroom and car park. It also offers easy access to local attractions like the Zakimi Gusuku Castle and Onna-son Community Centre.
The resort will be the third IHG hotel in Okinawa, following the ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort and ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort. The Crowne Plaza brand has 20 ANA Crowne Plaza hotels and three pipeline properties in Japan, 413 open Crowne Plaza hotels, and 146 in the pipeline globally.
