IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced opening its second voco hotel in South Korea, voco Seoul Myeongdong. This follows the successful launch of their first voco hotel in Seoul’s Gangnam district in 2022.
voco Seoul Myeongdong is situated in Myeongdong, a popular business and shopping area in Seoul. The hotel aims to offer a unique experience for guests by incorporating subtle Korean influences and personal touches.
According to Martjin Sax, General Manager of voco Seoul Myeongdong, the hotel is designed to reflect the dynamism of the Myeongdong district. Upon check-in, guests will be treated with a local delicacy, the traditional Korean dasik, made from locally sourced pumpkin and red bean.
The hotel is located near several cultural landmarks, such as Gyeongbokgong Palace and Namsan Tower, as well as traditional markets and luxury department stores. It boasts 576 guestrooms and suites, offering views of Seoul’s cityscape and Namsan Tower. The hotel also provides amenities such as a 24-hour fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool, and a children’s pool.
The hotel’s dining options include a buffet restaurant offering a mix of modern Korean and international cuisine. For business needs, the hotel provides a function hall and four meeting rooms equipped with the latest audio-visual technology.
As part of voco hotel’s sustainability efforts, voco Seoul Myeongdong uses amenities made from recycled materials and plant-based products. Since its inception in 2018, the voco brand has grown rapidly with 77 hotels worldwide and 80 more in development.
