Hilton to Launch 150 Spark Hotels in India

Hilton has signed a strategic licensing agreement with Olive by Embassy. The deal will see the opening of 150 Spark by Hilton Hotels across India, marking the brand’s first venture into the Asia Pacific region. The plan results from Hilton’s ongoing collaboration with The Embassy Group, which owns Hilton Bengaluru Embassy Manyata Business Park and Hilton Garden Inn Bengaluru Embassy Manyata Business Park.

Introducing the Spark by Hilton brand to India is part of Hilton’s broader growth strategy in South Asia. The first wave of these new hotels will be located in Southern India, targeting Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Spark by Hilton, launched in 2023, is Hilton’s fastest-growing brand, with 100 hotels currently under development. The brand targets value-conscious travelers seeking reliable and affordable accommodation. Spark by Hilton hotels in India will offer straightforward, dependable service and various seating options for guests to eat, socialize, or work. Complimentary breakfast and a 24-hour retail market will be additional features.

The new Spark by Hilton hotels in India are part of Hilton’s strategy to cater to the rising middle-class segment and increasing travel demand in the region. The brand joins Waldorf Astoria and Curio Collection by Hilton as the latest additions to Hilton’s South Asia portfolio, which now consists of eight diverse brands.

Hilton’s recent deals across its luxury, full-service, and focused-service segments underline its expansion plans in India. These include the introduction of the Curio Collection in Bengaluru, Jaipur’s first Conrad, and the Hilton flagship brand in Udaipur and Lucknow. The planned Waldorf Astoria in Jaipur, set to open by 2027, further showcases the appeal of Hilton’s luxury offerings and underlines the company’s commitment to growth in Tier II and III cities.

In 2024, Hilton made significant progress in South Asia, debuting in Nepal with the Hilton Kathmandu and expanding its full-service portfolio with the DoubleTree by Hilton Whitefield. The Hilton Gurugram Baani City Centre, Hilton Garden Inn Surat, and Hilton Garden Inn Jabalpur will also open later this year.
