Marriott International, Inc. has achieved a significant milestone by opening its 100th property in Japan, the Four Points Flex by Sheraton Osaka Umeda. This also marks the introduction of the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand to the Asia Pacific region, excluding China, highlighting Marriott’s ongoing commitment to the mid-scale segment.
This achievement will be followed by the opening of twelve more Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties across Japan this year. These openings will include entries into key cities such as Morioka and Kanazawa. The expansion, in collaboration with global investment firm KKR, is set to include a total of 14 properties in Japan by early 2025, adding over 3,600 rooms across key destinations, including Hakodate, Utsunomiya, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and Hakata.
The Four Points Flex by Sheraton Hotels offers convenient locations near public transport and city centers. They are designed for value-conscious travelers and provide clean, comfortable rooms with essential amenities, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a local breakfast option.
Marriott International’s President and CEO, Anthony Capuano, expressed his excitement about the company’s growth in Japan and the introduction of the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand to the Asia Pacific market. Kensuke Kudo, KKR’s Managing Director of real Estate, also highlighted the rising demand for mid-scale hotels in Japan.
Four Points Flex by Sheraton is part of Marriott’s Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, with over 219 million members worldwide. Members can earn points for stays at hotels and resorts and everyday purchases with co-branded credit cards.
The forthcoming Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties in Japan include facilities in Nagoya Station, Osaka Shinsaibashi, Kanazawa, Shin Osaka, Yokohama West, Kobe Sannomiya, Osaka Kitahama, Kyoto Oike, Utsunomiya, Hakodate Station, Morioka, Osaka Honmachi, and Fukuoka Hakata.
