The gross profit of the company was ¥51,056 million (~$331.86 million), down by 4.9 per cent YoY. Meanwhile operating profit was ¥11,551 million (~$75.7 million) in comparison to ¥3,384 million in the prior year, stated Wacoal in a press release.
Wacoal Holdings has reported revenue of ¥90,167 million (~$586.1 million) in H1 2024, down by 5.2 per cent YoY.
Gross profit fell 4.9 per cent to ¥51,056 million (~$331.86 million).
Domestic revenue dipped 4.8 per cent to ¥45,006 million, while overseas revenue declined 1.4 per cent to ¥34,549 million.
The company’s business profit was ¥2,304 million, down 39.6 per cent YoY in its overseas segment.
The business profit of Wacoal stood at ¥2,304 million in H1, down 39.6 per cent YoY. In terms of profit before taxes, the H1 period saw ¥12,815 million, compared to a loss of ¥2,739 million in the prior year. The profit attributable to owners of the parent company was ¥8,773 million.
The Wacoal business’ domestic segment recorded revenue of ¥45,006 million, representing 49.9 per cent of total revenue, a slight decrease of 4.8 per cent from the previous year. Wacoal business’ domestic segment achieved an operating profit of ¥8,497 million, an increase of 552.1 per cent compared to ¥1,303 million YoY.
The overseas segment contributed ¥34,549 million, or 38.3 per cent of total revenue, a marginal decline of 1.4 per cent YoY, and reported improved performance, with a reduced operating loss of ¥2,783 million, up by ¥7,806 million from the previous period’s loss of ¥5,023 million.
Peach John, a separate segment, generated revenue of ¥5,165 million, down 6.1 per cent YoY and marked a slight increase in operating losses, from ¥37 million in the previous year to ¥44 million in the current period.
