Silver Dollar City has disclosed its plans to invest $500 million over a decade in new family attractions, including the development of 1,200 acres near the Ozark Mountain theme park. This initiative marks the largest investment in the company’s 65-year history.
The investment plan will commence with the construction of the Silver Dollar City Resort, set to open in late 2026. This will be the first theme park resort in America’s Heartland. The resort is anticipated to offer unparalleled views of the Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake and exceptional access to the Silver Dollar City theme park.
The resort will be close to the company’s other family-friendly amenities, such as the White Water water park, Showboat dinner cruises, and Pink Jeep Adventure Tours. Further details on guest amenities, park privileges, room types, and group meeting spaces will be revealed in the coming months.
Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts’ President, Brad Thomas, sees this as a new era for the company. He expresses that this expansion will transform 1,200 acres into a unique, authentic Ozarks destination, starting with the first resort.
The 262-room resort, already under construction, will combine Silver Dollar City’s playful spirit with the Ozarks’ unique charm. Missouri Governor Mike Parson sees this venture as a testament to Silver Dollar City’s commitment to tourism and economic growth in the Ozarks and the State of Missouri.
Silver Dollar City opened over six decades ago and is an 1880s theme park in the Ozark Mountains. It is part of the Herschend family of entertainment brands, which includes 26 properties that collectively entertain over 14 million guests annually.
