Minor Hotels has appointed Rohit Chopra as its Area Commercial Director for India, signaling the company’s aim to expand its presence in the country. Chopra will lead commercial operations, drive revenue growth, and nurture client relationships in India.
With a career spanning over 26 years in the hospitality industry, Chopra brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has previously held positions at Marriott, Hyatt, and Accor, with his most recent role being Director of National Sales for India & South Asia at Accor.
Chopra expressed excitement about joining Minor Hotels and contributing to its growth in India. He plans to leverage his extensive experience to build strong client partnerships and deliver commercial success.
Puneet Dhawan, Head of Asia at Minor Hotels, welcomed Chopra to the team and praised his sales, marketing, and strategy expertise. He also highlighted Chopra’s deep understanding of the Indian market, stating that these qualities make him an ideal leader to drive the company’s commercial strategy in India.
Earlier this year, Minor Hotels announced plans to open 50 new hotels in India over the next decade. The company will focus on the upper-upscale and luxury segments under its Anantara, Avani, and NH Collection brands. Later this year, the group will open its second property in India, the Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Hotel.
