Spark by Hilton Stuttgart Sindelfingen is set to open later this year, marking the brand’s first property in Continental Europe

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the entry of its premium economy brand, Spark by Hilton, to mainland Europe, with the signing of Spark by Hilton Stuttgart Sindelfingen.

Set to open later this year, the 103-room hotel, signed as part of a franchise agreement with Aspire Hotels GmbH, follows the successful launch of the first-ever Spark by Hilton in 2023 – the fastest announcement-to-market brand in the company’s history. Since the first opening last September, the brand’s footprint has rapidly grown to nearly 50 operating hotels, with more than 175 under development.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton, said, “We are excited to introduce Spark by Hilton to Germany, marking a significant step in the brand’s expansion following its successful launch and rapid growth in the US. This represents an important milestone in our journey to serve the considerable demand for premium economy accommodation, driving value for guests and maximising returns for our owners. With hotels under eight brands now either operating or under development in Germany, we look forward to serving an even greater variety of traveller needs in this key strategic growth market.”

Aspire Hotel Group Pioneering the Spark by Hilton Brand in Germany

Andreas Erben, managing director, Aspire Hotel Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We’re excited to work alongside Hilton to bring the Spark by Hilton brand to Germany. Following significant renovation, we look forward to opening the hotel later this year and serving both business and leisure travelers as they visit the city of Sindelfingen.”

This partnership highlights Aspire Hotel Group’s commitment to enhancing the hospitality landscape in Germany by introducing innovative and guest-focused accommodation options.

Hilton’s fourth hotel in the Stuttgart metropolitan area, the property will be located in the city of Sindelfingen, home to a prominent Mercedes-Benz plant and the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Located just 16 minutes from Stuttgart Airport, the hotel is also a 3-minute walk from Sindelfingen’s train station, a short journey from Stuttgart’s main train station.

Ideal for guests looking to maximise the value of their travel budget without compromising on quality, the hotel will deliver reliable, friendly essentials with unexpected touches, and feature Spark’s signature amenities, including:

  • Guest rooms outfitted with practical amenities, including simple streamlined furniture, an open closet, multi-purpose work surface and bright bathroom featuring Zero% bathroom amenities.
  • Bright public spaces providing multi-functional seating, from communal tables to rocking chairs, offering plenty of comfortable options for guests to socialise or work.
  • Daily breakfast buffet comprising premium coffee, juice and bagels with spreads.
  • A signature Hydration Cart featuring complimentary still and sparkling water as well as whole fruit.
  • A 24-hour retail market, where on-the-go travellers can purchase food, drinks and other essentials around the clock.
  • Simple, inspired design with splashes of colour, vibrant exterior statement walls and energising artwork.

The brand not only delivers exceptional value for guests, but also offers a compelling proposition for owners and operators. A cost-effective conversion brand, it provides a unique opportunity for existing properties by reimagining the premium economy segment and focusing on areas that drive the guest experience, while also providing a consistent look and feel across each hotel.

Located in the heart of Sindelfingen’s city centre, Spark by Hilton Stuttgart Sindelfingen features a meeting room, breakfast area, multi-purpose gym and on-site parking. The property provides easy access to Sindelfingen’s landmark attractions, including the historic Sindelfingen Rathaus and St. Martin’s Church, as well as its business and financial district. It is a short walk from one of Mercedes-Benz’s major manufacturing sites, employing more than 21,000 people and housing the brand’s research and development department. Stuttgart Airport, which served 8.4 million passengers last year, is less than a 20-minute drive away. The MHP Arena, which welcomes over 60,000 fans for every VfB Stuttgart Bundesliga home game and is Germany’s sixth-largest football stadium, is less than 20 miles away.
