Erenhot Port logs over 1K China-Europe freight trains in 2023


Erenhot Port, located in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has facilitated trade between China and Europe by logging over 1,000 China-Europe freight trains in 2023 until now.

As of May 3, 2023, the port had successfully handled a total of 1,042 China-Europe freight trains, indicating a 7 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. The record-breaking feat was achieved 10 days earlier than the previous year’s milestone, China’s local railway authorities were quoted as saying by local media reports.

The port serves as a crucial trade gateway, connecting China with over 60 regions across 10 countries.
It has established 68 China-Europe freight train routes and implemented a green channel for efficient operations.

Erenhot Port serves as the largest land port between China and Mongolia. It acts as a vital gateway, linking China with more than 60 regions across 10 countries, including prominent trading partners such as Germany, Poland, and Mongolia. A network of 68 China-Europe freight train routes has been established through this strategic port, ensuring efficient trade flows.

Recognising the importance of smooth operations, the land port has implemented a ‘green channel’ exclusively dedicated to China-Europe freight trains since the beginning of this year.
