The Canada-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CBCCI) and the Bangladesh Jute Mills Association have signed an MoU to promote jute products from Bangladesh in Canada.
Demand for jute products in the global market has risen over the last decade due to more consumers preferring eco-friendly products, said CBCCI executive vice president Areef Rahman.
Demand for jute products in the global market, including Canada, has increased over the last decade due to a shift in consumer preference to eco-friendly products from synthetic counterparts, said Rahman.
With the availability of quality raw jute, Bangladesh is at an advantageous position to tap the growing market of jute products, he was quoted as saying by a news agency.
