Early bird registration deadline extended for European Outdoor Summit

Benjamin Billet & Jerome Pero. Pic: European Outdoor Summit

Delegate registration for the European Outdoor Summit (EOS), which will take place on October 6-7 at the Impérial Palace in France, is open and the early bird registration has now been extended until July 20. An initiative of the European Outdoor Group, this event is held annually to reflect on and discuss the issues the delegates collectively face.

Inspired by recent events of the last couple of years and by the Yin Yang principle of chaos within order and order within chaos – how the exchange between these can work together towards creating a greater balance in our lives, our work, and the planet. The overall content of this year’s summit has been developed under the heading ‘Finding Balance and Success Within Disorder’.

Following on from keynote speaker Jerome Pero’s (secretary general, FESI) presentation on how EU policy is changing and how industry will need to step up in response to the climate and biodiversity crises, he will be joined by Benjamin Billet, policy officer from European Network of Outdoor Sports (ENOS) for a workshop on ‘The EU Green Deal – So What??!! Paradigm Shifts in Policy and Opportunities for Collaborative Working’.

This will focus on how collaborative and partnership working could support genuine and concrete actions. ENOS will outline its policy position on the European Green Deal and focus on key actions and recommendations that could be adopted and supported by the outdoor industry. The aim of the workshop is to share ideas and inspire creative thinking for a genuinely joined up and interdependent approach to helping implement the EU Green Deal and to support changes that challenge the norms, the European Outdoor Group said in a press release.

Additionally, Bleckmann has joined as Champion Sponsors of the summit. Bleckmann strives for partnerships with fashion and lifestyle brands alike, including members of EOG, in order to work together on end-to-end circular solutions. With the belief that these partnerships establish even better dialogue with brands, and therefore understanding (upcoming) future challenges in even more depth. This in turn leads to Bleckmann ensuring better service to clients, supporting their efforts on their journey to sustainability, and helping them to embrace circular solutions.
